The former name remains useful as a search phrase because many travelers still remember it, but it should not be used as the current brand in a booking.

The official site describes a 14-hectare resort with a half-kilometer stretch of white sand and places the property on the quieter Dauis/northern side of Panglao rather than in the Alona Beach nightlife zone. That location is the central tradeoff: privacy and resort space are the strength; spontaneous restaurant-hopping and easy street transport are weaker.

For a first visit, think of Mithi as a destination resort. If the goal is to wake up, use the beach and pool, visit the spa, see the private cave and spend a large part of the day inside the property, the location makes sense. If the goal is to walk out every evening into dozens of bars, shops and restaurants, a hotel closer to Alona is usually the more logical base.

Mithi is strongest for couples, honeymooners, families who want resort facilities, travelers who value quiet, and guests who are happy to eat and relax on the property for significant parts of the stay. The resort is weaker for travelers who measure a Panglao stay by immediate nightlife, cheap food within a five-minute walk, spontaneous tricycle availability outside the gate or a dense selection of cafés. Current and recent guest reports repeatedly describe the location as secluded. That is an advantage when quiet is the goal and a limitation when the resort is only meant to be a sleeping base.

It is also not the right choice for someone who is highly sensitive to daytime renovation noise without first receiving a room-location answer from the property. The renovation notice is not a rumor from an old review: the current official website states that guest rooms are being upgraded per villa and construction work, isolated from common areas, runs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

A two-night stay can work as a resort break at the end of a Bohol itinerary. Three nights make more sense if the guest wants one full resort day, one nearby Panglao outing and a relaxed arrival/departure. A longer stay suits guests who genuinely enjoy staying on property rather than those who feel restless without a restaurant strip.

The most important current booking question is room location relative to renovation. Mithi’s official site currently says guest rooms are being upgraded, the work is being done per villa, construction is isolated from common areas, and construction runs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. That is reassuring compared with resort-wide closure, but it does not guarantee every room is equally quiet during every phase.

Before booking a non-refundable rate, email or message the property with the exact dates and room category. Ask whether the assigned or likely building is adjacent to active work, whether access paths are affected, whether any pool or facility will close for maintenance, and what the relocation policy is if the noise is materially different from what was disclosed.

The property’s official history describes roughly half a kilometer of white-sand shoreline. That gives Mithi a very different feel from the public, commercially active Alona beachfront.

Recent guest reports disagree on swimming quality: some praise the calm private beach, while at least one 2026 guest found the water unsuitable during their stay. Dream Islet is a visual landmark and event location rather than a promise that every guest can hold a private dinner there at any time. Weddings, proposals, maintenance or weather can affect access. A 2025 first-hand stay report describes steep, potentially slippery stairs and deep water, which makes the cave a poor choice for anyone with major mobility limitations, strong claustrophobia or weak water confidence. Because those details come from one visitor rather than a current official accessibility specification, contact the resort for the present stair condition, supervision, life-jacket requirement and operating window.

Do not confuse Cambagat Cave with nearby Hinagdanan Cave. Hinagdanan is a separate public attraction outside the resort and has its own entrance, crowd and fee system. Cambagat is inside Mithi’s grounds. A guest staying at Mithi can decide whether the private cave satisfies the desire for an underground swim before paying for another cave visit.

Treat the time figures as the resort’s own baseline, not a traffic guarantee.

The location is close to Hinagdanan Cave but not inside the Alona restaurant-and-nightlife cluster. Recent visitor reports consistently describe the resort as secluded, and one practical 2025 report found it easier to arrange a tricycle from Alona to the resort than to find one waiting outside Mithi for the return. The solution is simple: arrange the outbound and return trip before leaving the resort.

Travelers flying into Bohol can compare current flight routes before choosing a non-refundable resort rate. Build airport transfer and baggage time into the first day rather than treating the resort’s stated 15-minute baseline as a guaranteed door-to-door journey.

Guests arriving with luggage can compare airport or hotel transfers, then check the final quote against the resort’s own pickup offer. If several Bohol regions are planned, a car may become useful, so travelers can compare rental conditions including insurance, deposit, parking and road rules.

Experienced, legally eligible riders may check motorcycle availability, but darkness, rain and unfamiliar Panglao roads matter after dinner. Do not rent a motorcycle only to save on one return ride from Alona.

For a two-night stay, remove the external Panglao day and use Mithi as a genuine resort break. For four or five nights, add one Bohol countryside day or one east-Bohol extension rather than commuting to Alona every evening.
