This page explains how Philippines Compass researches, writes and updates its travel guides, and how affiliate links and advertising are kept separate from the content.
Sources
Practical information (fees, opening hours, permits, transport, closures and safety advisories) is checked against official and primary sources wherever they exist: the Department of Tourism and regional tourism offices, local government units, park and protected-area offices, PAGASA weather advisories, and operators’ own published schedules. Where a detail comes only from a secondary listing, the guide says so and recommends confirming it before travel.
Use of AI tools
Philippines Compass uses AI writing tools to help draft and structure guides. Drafts are reviewed before publication, factual details are checked against the sources above, and guides are corrected when readers or official sources show they are wrong. AI tools are not used to invent first-hand experiences, reviews or quotes.
Accuracy and updates
Travel conditions in the Philippines change with seasons, weather and local rules. Guides that carry an information-review date were checked on that date. Older guides are reviewed and updated over time, and duplicated or outdated pages are merged into a single, current guide.
Affiliate links and advertising
Some guides include affiliate links to booking, activity and travel-product providers, marked as sponsored links. The site may earn a commission when a booking is completed, at no extra cost to the reader. The site may also show ads served by Google AdSense. Commissions and ads do not decide which places are covered or how they are described, and no business pays to be included in a guide.
Corrections
Readers can report errors to contact@philippinescompass.com. Confirmed corrections are made in the guide itself.
